Okay, much like everyone else in the
world, I'm absolutely addicted to YouTube!
As you can imagine, my biggest delight comes from getting to watch
all those great Broadway performances again.
Are you even surprised I don't care so much about the people lip syncing to Broadway
classics in their bedroom?
As I've always said even back when I was doing theatre, "I
can sing the hell out of "Che" from Evita in my basement. Doesn't mean that anyone wants to hire
me to do it or pay to see it." I used to say this because I understand better than anyone that when you're short,
dark, ethnic and effeminate, you're never going to play "Curly" in Oklahoma. A friend of mine and I used to
kid that we were going to open the Short, Dark, Ethnic Theatre where we would play all the leads and the blondes would be
in the ensemble!
Anwyay, I've done all the tedious searching for you and below are some of my favorite
Broadway clips (in no particular order) from Hope you enjoy them!
And if you come
across a great clip that should be included on this page, please email the URL to me! scott@somelikeitscott.com
Disclaimer: It has been brought to my attention that
some of the links below no longer work due to the video being pulled from YouTube under copyright infringement. (The only
infringement I know about is a suede leather jacket I had in the 80's.) So if you find a link that doesn't work, I'm
sorry and if you can let me know which one it is that no one else will have to be sorry. (See how that works?)
Okay kids, things are now alphabetized so we
can all sleep better at night! (Well, at least I can) I never know what the hell to do with shows that have the word, "The"
in front of them so I'm choosing to ingnore the "The" - what this means is that "The Producers" is
under "P" (no comment). Enjoy!
If you haven't seen this before
(like me), its a sort of special one time event, a combination/parody/whatever of "Avenue Q" and "Fiddler on
The Roof"
Go Jews!

No music on this page so you
can enjoy the Broadway sounds from the clips. But here's me in 1973, sleeping by my record player, no doubt listening
to a Broadway soundtrack!
